Abortion is a very controversial topic. It controversy centers around the very strong views on it .The practice of Abortion dates all the way back to as early as the mid-to-late 1800s. Thus making abortion a hot topic of debate for a long time. According to 2012 Merriam-Webster dictionary, an Encyclopedia Britannica Company, an abortion is, “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation--miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy. According to the National Abortion Federation, “Abortion has been performed for thousands of years, and in every society that has been studied. It was legal in the United States from the time the earliest settlers arrived. At the time the Constitution was adopted, abortions before “quickening” were openly advertised and commonly performed.”( National Abortion Fedration) Being that practiced abortion have been going for a very long time several abortion services started up in order to accommodate women who make the choice to have one. In the more recent years the abortions have become more common after the creation of abortion services such as Planned Parenthood. According to Planned Parenthood Abortions are very common. Furthermore upon completing this study I cannot say with much certainty that this research has without a showdown of a doubt confirmed that women who have an abortion will have an increase chance of suffering from psychological changes following an abortion. Being that issue of abortion is serious and important, it imperative that those trying to choose a stance should fully understand what abortion is and understand what it means to the women affected by it. Furthermore being that abortion is such a sensitive topic those interested in understanding should do the research on the topic, but more over while doing research they should do it without biases in the efforts to fully grasp the true essence of the topic.
