Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects children and adolescents. It occurs when a child is well above the normal weight for his or her age and height. Childhood obesity is particularly troubling because the extra pounds often start children on the path to health problems that were once confined to adults, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The most common causes are genetic factors, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, or a combination of these factors. Other disorders would include liver disease, early puberty or menarche, eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, skin infections, and asthma and other respiratory problems. At home, parents can help prevent their children from becoming overweight by changing the way the family eats and exercises together. The best way children learn is by example, so parents need to lead by example by living a healthy lifestyle. Prevention of obesity should begin from the first year of life, valuing growth in height and weight of the child together. In children proper nutrition is essential because they are in a stage of rapid growth, the first year triple their weight and increase half its size. At each stage of childhood food is taking a variation and the number of collisions and schedule, so it is important to spend time with a lot of responsibility for that children are taking a feed from small. During the pre-school should start teaching classes on how to be having a good diet, you should go to teach young students how to prevent it and the consequences that can come, if obesity is not prevented. But actually what should be taught to children, is what foods are good for health education and point out more
