By holding your child back you are being extremely counterproductive. The parents intentions are attempting to heidt their child to the position of the brightest child in the class room but in reality your child has already lost a whole year of Education where they could be getting ahead in their most crucial time of brain development. A lot of parents who have children in late summer believe that their child is not ready and needs time to mature because they will be the youngest in the class. According to Sam Wang and Sandra Aamodt, “ having an older (but not younger) sibling speeds the onset of this capacity in 3- 5 year olds”(71).
The choice to hold back a child is one that a parent must logically make based on evidence and studies. “The studies that show the academic advantages provided by redshirting may seem to imply that the choice is simple if you want to give your child the best chance of success let him wait a year”(Chen). Redshirtting objectively speaking helps kids gain a better start in life; it prepares them for kindergarten. It is a great oppourtuitiy parents can give their child. It allows them to get ahead of their piers and preform better in school.
Early school times have been causing children in schools to earn bad grades. Research shows that these children tend to do better when schools are delayed. On the other hand, some people think that starting schools later means having less time to do homework. If schools start later, children will have time to get more rest. Many students are not getting the right amount of sleep.
Year round school benefit is for a child not to have a lapse in learning or remembering what they’ve learned. That’s when the parents or guardians need’s to step in to continue educational learning. Teachers alone can’t be responsible for the education others need to play their part. Just because summer vacation has started doesn’t mean learning should have stopped. Since year round schooling isn’t what’s normal adjusting could be difficult.
It’s Time for a New School Schedule Some schools have a year-round schedule, and some schools have a summer break. Even though the school year would seem longer, schools should go year round. We would retain more information, holiday breaks are still in use, and we get weeks off after a number of school weeks.
When considering the choice of whether, schools should convert to year round schooling or not, the choice should definitely be schools should not convert to year round schooling. A few reasons schools should not convert to year round schooling is because students can even forget something they learned, in a short period of time, and then the teachers would have to reteach the same topic, which is extremely frustrating. The students would also spend less time with their family, because they don’t have the traditional summer break. Not only that, but it causes parents more stress to have to plan ahead of time for how they were going to take care of their children whenever they had breaks (which were very frequent). If this claim is not listened to, teachers teach the same thing repeatedly, family bonds weaken, it disrupts parents work, and it risks the child’s safety.
The most obvious downside of year-round school is the effect it can have on families. So If you have a year-round school you won 't have time to see your family. (According to The Pros and Cons of Year-Round School) Students in year-round school may miss out on opportunities to spend time with children of other ages and learn about nature, as typical summer camp experiences may no longer be a part of the childhood experience. So you miss out with friends and nature so summer camp won 't be part of kids childhoods anymore (According to Facts to Help Parents Identify the Pros and Cons of Year-Round School) And the time off was not implemented to accommodate contemporary concerns, like children needing "down time" to decompress and "be kids," but was born out of economic necessity.
Year round schools don’t help students learn more, they just spread out a long break that some people think will improve students learning. Even though year round schools support continuous learning they make continuous learning harder by adding many breaks in between the school year. Year round schools don’t keep the traditional school day and don’t help students learn more. Students that have school during the summer aren’t being real kids.
Yes there are downsides to year round school, but also good things. One thing in particular is how students get frequent breaks. Sitting in school for 180 days is really boring to some. But if every six weeks, a two week vacation would follow.
Besides, the teachers will earn more salary than the regular years of high school plus will get more vacation pay so at the end students and teachers will be happy. Therefore, this is why school year-round is useful and beneficial for students and teachers. It is an excellent way for students to maintain and follow the right paths in
(Weller 3). This is a problem because it takes away quality family time from students, which is essential for their well-being. Thirdly, a second benefit is that the year-round schooling system helps solve the problem of overcrowding. (Zubrzycki 1). Since all students wouldn 't be in school all at the same time, it eliminates the overcrowding problem.
This is an important issue because starting schools later has many positive effects. Some positive effects of starting school later is improvements in grades, test scores, and overall performance in core subjects. Another positive effect of starting schools later is that students will be more attentive, have a better memory, a better mood, and a better behavior and executive function. While this might seem like a good solution to some, preschool should not be mandatory for all children before they enter kindergarten. There are many factors to be considered in a child 's early development and to put a blanket demand on entering preschool, could be a disservice to some children based on parental influences, environmental factors, and the level of education and care being given in a particular home childcare
