The 1920’s saw a big boom in the entertainment after World War I. With having

World War I done, people wanted something to do and had extra money to spend which led to

entertainment bombing. Some entertainment, like radio, led to sports becoming more popular

and movies becoming a weekly event. These forms of entertainment are still very big and used a

lot today.

During the 1920’s radio became a very important aspect of most Americans lives.

According to Radios in the 1920s “ Most radio historians assert that radio broadcasting began

in 1920 with the historic broadcast of KDKA. Few people actually heard the voices and music

which were produced because of the dearth of radio receivers at that time. The public, however,

as popular.

Movies and films really flourished during the 1920’s. The movies and films were silent

and many people were trying to put sound to them, but it wasn't until several years after when

sound was audible. During the 1920’s movies and films became a part of Americans everyday

life. According to Entertainment of the 1920s “About 75% of Americans attended a movie

theater weekly” Movies and film were bigger in the 1920’s than they are today, “ Most people

are unaware that the greatest output of feature films in the US occurred in the 1920s and 1930s

(averaging about 800 film releases in a year) - nowadays, it is remarkable when production

exceeds 500 films in a year.” Stated in the Film History of the 1920s. As you can see, movies

and films became a very large source of entertainment during the 1920’s.
