Why Is Standardized Testing Necessary

Standardized tests are very common in our schools today. Many school require that we take tests in some form and there is a big debate on whether these tests are actually helping students. There are many people that say that standardized testing is good for our schools and students, while others believe that standardized tests shouldn 't be used and are not necessary in our schools. My stand on the issue, is that standardized tests should not be used in school. Standardized tests do not show individual student 's ability and cannot be based off of one test. Standardized tests should not be used in our schools and they need no longer to be used. Standardized tests do not help students and are not suitably beneficial to students later in life.
Standardized tests should no longer be used because they do not help students but actually hurt them in some cases.
America is a growing nation, and we see many foreign exchange students and different nationality students in our schools more often today. Some ways that standardized tests are useful in schools are that they help parents keep track of how their children are doing. Most parents don 't know what it 's like to take these tests that their children are now, because it was implemented until early 2000’s so most parent have taken only the ACT and that 's it. The parents also can see how their children are doing, but they don 't know how it corresponds to what they are suppose to be learning in class. Another reason it is beneficial is that it allows students progress to be tracked over the years. If the student has high test anxiety, how will they expect to do any better on the next test? The student already knows they did poorly on the first one and they are already discouraged for the next test, so they are already stressed about doing it again and fear of doing poorly
