People who smoke should pay more for health insurance
America needs to do something about the rising cost of health insurance. There are many high risk behaviors that are adding to the high cost of health care. One of these high risk behaviors is smoking. There are several reasons why smokers should have to pay more for health care insurance. Nonsmokers should not have to experience the risk of 2nd hand smoking. Smoking has been linked to many health care problems. Raising the cost of premiums for health insurance to smokers should reduce the incidence of smoking. Smoking is one of the leading causes of death in the United States of America. If they choose to smoke, they can smoke. Smoking is not illegal in the USA. Non-smokers have rights as well. Non-smokers should not have to pay health insurance when they do not smoke. Non-smokers are presently being forced to pay and suffer for people who choose to smoke. Smokers should not be discriminated, although Smokers choose to smoke at their own risk. It is the non-smokers who feel they have no rights. The percent of smokers who said they would quit smoking unfortunately did not. Five years late 70% of those smokers are still smoking. Smokers should quit if the health insurance is raised for smokers. Raising the price of cigarettes had no big effect. The death rate should go down and smoking should be reduced. Smokers should have to pay double the amount of their health insurance. There are 58% of the American population believe that smokers should pay a higher health insurance.
