Art programs are important to a student´s average school day, they are time amidst the school day that a student can feel as though they are in their element. A time throughout the day where they can relax and be themselves and focus on something they truly enjoy. Classrooms across America are facing budget cuts, unfortunately this causes the products that these classrooms use to below quality and the classroom are not able to support the students they have. These programs should not be cut from schools because they help students academically, socially, and developmentally. From a young age schools and parents have used art programs to help students learn, whether it be with singing to help memorize words or matching pictures to a story.

Some of the benefits they would be missing out on are the relieving qualities of art, the ability to express their emotions, and the advantages in the academic classroom. Studies have shown that having art or music does increase the amount of information a student retains (Hawkins 1). The most prominent positive effect are the core classes like math, science, English, and history will have larger budgets and they will be able to afford the technology and supplies they need to stay up to date in the classroom. Music and art programs should not leave the school building. These programs are important to many students and even faculty. Removing these programs could possibly affect these students and possibly the faculty. Students in these programs are in there for a reason. What i am saying, is that these programs should not be cut, because students show their talents, they're beneficial for your future career, and student can express who they are.
High school students should be required to take at least one arts course each year. Taking an arts course helps students find another subject of interest and try new things. For example, before high school, there is a chance that a student has never taken an arts course before, so now the student has a chance to find another subject of interest in the arts, or simply try it out. As a result, students end up learning more about themselves, and students may even think about taking up one of the arts as a career or hobby. Considering my past experiences, my opinion is that fine arts should not be required. They should remain purely as electives, available to students that are personally interested in them. I would never wish the stress and hopelessness I felt in fine art programs or classes upon even my worst enemies”. This shows that forcing students to partake in music classes can make them feel like a chore rather than a fun activity, which is really the opposite of what music classes should strive for. Like it or not, the best way to achieve the goal of educating and getting students interested in music is having it as an elective, not a mandatory class that can potentially turn the students off the subject
It is important to study something in school that you enjoy but that is also useful in the real world. I have always been asked, “what's your major?”. I would answer art history and always got a response like, “what are you going to do with that?”. Most parents and students don’t feel that there is a good foundation from learning Art History. It is often heard from high school and college students (influenced by their parents) that to succeed you must major in science, technology, engineering, or business.
Recently, more and more schools have been cutting funding or eliminating arts programs all together. This has been because of a lack of federal funding in public schools. Another reason is that many schools have been doing so is because they’ve wanted to spend more money on different areas such as STEM subjects. Instead of cutting these massively beneficial programs, schools should integrate the arts into the curriculum through STEAM rather than STEM. Often many schools do not use STEAM programs because many people do not see the benefit in the arts.
Introduction Visual and performing arts tend to act as separate entities within the field of education; considerably isolated from the majority of academia, these sectors are often considered to be secondary or elective options after completing primary education. So, must of them must help you to encourage your creativity. And not only in specific areas, I personally don 't think schools are doing enough to encourage the students creativity. There are many more arts and subjects schools should use to encourage creativity. Including physical subjects, like PE. And those results should improve in our society.
Modern day schooling forces students to fit a mold only a select few can fill by creating too much structure and having an overbearing emphasis on math and science, when other, less structured extracurricular activities can promote respect, discipline, and teamwork. Most would agree that, in early stages of life, art is a detrimental and necessary part of any child’s early development and education. In fact, Pre-K through third grade’s education curriculum is usually centered around promoting early creativity and a fondness for learning. Kids learn math by counting colorful pieces of bricks. They learn both science and the basic principles of functionality by playing with train sets and toy cars.

1.2 Statement of Significance Art can do lots of things that can create powerful and great changes in ourselves. Artist is someone that is so hard to read if we fail to understand them to interpret the underlying meaning behind their painting because it is their getaway to express their emotions and desires to the community. To accomplish this, the artists are communicating with the society by delivering their messages through their artworks.
