One aspect of the presentations that I found intriguing, was how Shakespeare remained popular throughout the years. Shakespeare alone contributed an unparalleled amount to the development of the English language; if he required a word that was non-existent, he would invent one. Although many believe that all of Shakespeare’s works were original, in actuality, even Shakespeare borrowed ideas from those who inspired him including Geoffrey Chaucer, and Plutarch. The reason Shakespeare’s works gained popularity, is due to the fact that his literature appealed to both the upper and lower classes. He wrote about bold topics, and complex characters, sparking interest in readers. He soon accumulated a large audience which has lasted the test of time,
