The Civil War The civil war was a big part in America's history . From 1861-1865 the war lasted . The revolution in 1776-1783 was like to be the beginning of the war . There was two main reasons why for this war . One was if the United States was a dissolvable confederation of sovereign states or sovereign national government . The second thing was if all men were born with equal right to liberty. Which means that it doesn't matter about color and that colored people should be slaves and not get the same thing as white men. The respect , freedom of speech , and the way they lived wasn't the same for the white. Also slavery. In the civil war there was two sides . They also put an end the institution of slavery .But all this had the cost of 625,000 lives . All those soldiers life that was taken away was the most then other wars we had or was in put together . It wasn't just those lives . Those lives were the ones that was recorded in history . There was other lives taken away but no always told in history. The way the war changed American lives . Slaves were happy but it didn't turn out the way everyone had thought it would . Most still worked where they have always been working at. But know they would have to pay for rent have to pay for food have to pay for new clothes. There boss would try and say they were making a deal saying if u stay and work for me I would pay you . But then they would have to pay rent and buy food . They would make you pay five times more than if they went and sold off whatever they were growing . All men were able to vote . Women's rights were starting to appear . The dreams about freedom . What I believe that they were thinking of was . They would be able to get what most white men had . A nicer home a nicer job . Maybe even being able to read , write, spell ,in other words go to school . Being able to say whatever you would like to whoever you like. You would get equal
