1. What rationale do the author(s) give for conducting the study? The author that is conducting this research is testing the obedience of a subject when dealing with “stocking a victim” by use of a shock generator. There are thirty levels of shock that are generated varying from a slight shock to a severe shock.
Throughout high school, I was involved in an enrichment program through my high school and every other friday a couple other students and I traveled to Allegheny College to take classes. My favorite course by far was the neuroscience class that I took during junior and senior year. Every class, Dr. Jeff Cross would give us journal articles to read about a neurological disorder or experiment that was conducted and the next week we would perform that experiment in class. I enjoyed this class so much that for my senior project I decided to work on a topic with Dr. Cross.
I soon became passionate about conducting research to understand the association of mental illness on students. Researching other studies would eventually aid to design other programs that were culturally tailored to specific
My most significant academic learning experience has been…
Knowing that I had learned about a new field of science, had persevered through failure to make progress toward my research question, and even made new friends and connections made my experience extremely
It helped me realize who I was, what can I know, and how I should act. The first question of who am I was realized by putting my project together. We rarely take a step back and think of all the roles we play in life. Many people sometimes forget about who they really are because they never step back and put it into perspective. I also learned from watching other people’s presentations.
It helps me in my biology class. The brain, and alcohol, the substance, and chemical compounds in the alcohol were some of the things I learned. Also, how each brain section is affected differently. So, in biology class, we are studying the brain and its functions and how every part has its own job to do. While I was researching the topic the brain and its functions came across ,so that helped me ahead of time.
Article-Nutrition and Exercise among Patient with Bipolar Among the many mental illnesses individuals suffer from, bipolar disorder (BPD) is one of the most disabling mood disorders. It is chronic condition that is linked with a substantial personal and societal cost along with general medical comorbidities, including dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease (Kilbourne, Rofey, McCarthy, Post, Welsh, & Blow, 2007). It is commonly known that these medical conditions often lead to life altering challenges and most often premature deaths. However, most of these medical diagnoses can be preventable or at least manageable with a proactive lifestyle that includes a healthy diet, daily exercise and medication.
Describe your major accomplishments, achievements or contributions during the past evaluation cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, education or training completed, new skills acquired, actions that demonstrate consistent service to the Firm and clients, and actions that demonstrate the Firm's core values and beliefs: I believe I continually do good work—nothing major nor groundbreaking, but rather contributing along efficiently, effectively on a daily basis. Although some projects are challenging, I seldom give up—I always find solutions or offer alternative solutions. Below are some recent examples of projects and situations successfully completed.
This experience was essential so that I confirm that research was something that I truly wanted to be a part of my life. However, I didn't know how much. I was torn with the idea of doing research in a field of microbiology or immunology and becoming an epidemiologist. During my research experience, I got to be more involved in process of clinical research and the start to finish process of maintaining a biobank.
I am submitting my first field experience reflective paper, journal, time sheet, evaluation, and thank you note under Standard 4 because it documents that I have observed teachers using strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students. During my 12 hour of observation, I was able to see the unique styles of teaching strategies at Ottumwa High School and Eddyville Elementary school. In the high school setting, I was able to observe six different English classes. Some unique classes that I was able to sit in was Criticizing Comics and Heroes in Literature. I noticed that both these classes required a lot creativity from students who wanted to show their originality.
One of the most significant experiences I have had in recent years was when I taught myself to ride a unicycle. It was something I had wanted to learn for a long time, and I was excited to get started. I was a little concerned that it might prove too difficult to learn a new physical activity of this nature as an adult. In the end it was more challenging than I imagined, but it was also more rewarding that I ever could have hoped. Learning to ride a unicycle taught me, balance and coordination, but more importantly, it taught me to overcome obstacles, and most importantly it changed the way I approach goals.
I decided to do some research on the Apollo 11 lunar landing. To me it represented more than a scientific feat, it was evidence that nothing is impossible. The team of 3 men (Commander Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins), all had different roles, and they worked together to accomplish something that had never been done before. After Armstrong and Aldrin landed, they set to work. During the time they spent on the lunar surface, they took samples of moon rocks, performed experiments, and took photographs.
By participating in different research projects, I learned how to leverage my own skills and teamwork for problem solving, I broadened my knowledge horizon of pharmacy and changed the way I perceive this subject of science. I was the co-author of three research papers under the guidance of professors and graduate students. These accomplishments could perfectly reflect my abilities and
There I learned how to function within a team of engineers. I was tasked with creating an eHealth solution that would allow for more efficient and effective chronic health care. This experience was so beneficial, because it allowed me to achieve my goal of using engineering to help improve other people’s
