Answer: Anthony De Mello was a Jesuit priest of the Catholic Church. At the beginning of the “song of the bird” de mello states his rootedness in the catholic church but he does not limit his songs to only the faithful. He believes we are people first and then people of various denominations and religions. Our heritage has all religious and non-religious traditions.

God’s love encompasses each of us with a warm acceptance .God continually calls us to draw near to what we need. To listen to Gods reassuring words of love gives us a feeling of being whole and lovable. Therefore it makes us free to love others like the way God loves us....just as we are.

We understand wholeness as “Getting it all together in total harmony and peace. It promises something which can be achieved. In Christian spirituality we understand as “always being on the way” rather than having it all together. A “whole” person is aware and reflects on his/her actions, thoughts, feelings.
Wholeness or being whole is a gift from a power greater and higher than us.
