William Shakespeare, a historically significant figure in the area of English plays, not only was a poet, he was also a playwright and an actor. Born in the year of 1564, he found himself living in the small market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire in England. At the age of 18 he married Anne Hathaway, a farmer’s daughter. From then on Shakespeare began his career in the wide world of poems, and plays. Shakespeare wrote numbers of plays throughout his lifetime, just a few being Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth and presumably his most popular; Romeo and Juliet.

Passing in 1616, Shakespeare worked much longer with Lord Chamberlin, then with King James, even though King James and William Shakespeare were very close. Shakespeare was a translator of The King James Bible, his name is embedded in two separated parts of the text, he was known for being close and commonly assisting King James, also King James volunteered his men “The Kings Men” for Shakespeare’s plays at the Globe Theatre.

His poetic, literary, and drama contributions have revolutionized the English language, causing many modern students to struggle over comprehending the poet’s works. However many students analyze Shakespearean works without having an informed background of the writer himself.

He was the founder of modern English, he understood the power of language, its ability to paint landscapes, create atmospheres and compelling characters.
