William Shakespeare led a very interesting life. He was considered to be one of the greatest English writers to ever exist. His entire life was devoted to the public theater. One thing that stands out the most about Shakespeare is that most of his writings were very dramatic. He only wrote non dramatics poetry when the closing of the theater made writing plays very impractical (William 1). Shakespeare’s work has been performed for the last four hundred years (The Biography.com website 1). Even though we know a lot about his work, we don’t know much about his life in general. He was a very successful writer and he was writing plays for the company at a very steady rate. He mostly wrote comedies for the company, he did write a few tragedies though (Shakespeare 1). He also wrote a few romantic plays, but he wrote comedies for the company more than anything else. His only tragedies from that time were some of his most famous plays, including Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Julius Caesar (Shakespeare 1). Shakespeare’s sonnets were first published in 1609 as a quarto (Publishing 1). Even though they weren’t published until 1609, they were probably written much earlier. His sonnets are a lot more popular today than his poems (Publishing1). It’s very hard to find quatro's today, they were like books but the pages were folded multiple times (Publishing 1). About half of his plays were printed on quatro’s (Publishing 1). Shakespeare did a lot during his life. He wrote some of the most famous plays and poems known to man. I’m sure he went through a lot of struggles just to get to the point where he could make a living from writing plays and poems. He had to adjust to what life threw at him just to make it as a playwright. Without Shakespeare’s work, who knows what the history of plays and poems would be
