The play “Hamlet” is a tragedy novel written by William Shakespeare. The storyline of the play is about a man named Hamlet, who gets revenge on his uncle, Claudius, who became a king and married to Hamlet's mother Gertrude, after the spirit of Hamlet's father told him he was poisoned by Claudius. Throughout the play, Hamlet becomes crazy with madness and plans to get revenge on Claudius and the theme of tragedy takes place in the end of the play. There are many other themes that played a big role in Hamlet, like corruption, morality and tragedy or death. The story of Hamlet can have meaning and application in today's society by some of the themes that are still used and can relate to people and their lives.

King Claudius planned to kill Hamlet by putting poison in a cup for him to drink. But instead of Hamlet drinking the cup, it was Gertrude who decided to drink the cup to honor Hamlet and it ended up killing her on accident. And that’s when Hamlet became mad and killed Laertes with the poison sword that he was scratched with earlier, then he killed King Claudius with the poison from the cup and the sword. Lastly, after all of the characters has died, Hamlet also got killed due to the scratch from the poisoned sword. Most of the characters died in the play creating the tragedy or death theme. It was used several times with the emotions of hamlet. In the play Hamlet had to make tough decisions whether to kill Claudius or no to kill him. For example, when Claudius was praying for forgiveness about killing his brother, Hamlet hid behind a wall deciding if he was going to kill him at that moment or wait. And Hamlet decided that he was going to wait after he was done praying. Because if he had killed him there, then he would probably be sent to heaven, unlike his father who didn’t get to ask for forgiveness before he was killed, and probably never went to heaven, since his father spirit is still haunting him.
