Growing up, I often heard the phrase "Work Smarter, not harder," and its meaning resonated with me in a unique way compared to my peers. While many overlook the phrase and think of the whys (the benefits of working smarter rather than harder), I went further to ask myself the question of How Exactly to "work smarter". I believe that achieving this goal requires a continuous pursuit of knowledge, like building a personal library of handy solutions. It allowed me to apply the knowledge and expertise I had acquired, boosting my confidence and sense of fulfilment as I saw my skills in action. Usually when we finish an automation, we would go back to the Client to ask for the time savings they have received since using the automation. I had never felt such a sense of pride and satisfaction for all our automations to boost their efficiency by 50 to 90%. Seeing the impact of my contributions and how my abilities were valued during the internship was truly motivating. Moreover, the chance to further develop my skills was invaluable, helping me expand my capabilities and grow as a person. In the previous reflection, I had written about how speaking to Clients one particular social challenge I had. Without this internship, I do not think I would have stepped outside my comfort zone to experiment with the way I communicate with them. This internship also provided me the chance to speak with a multitude of different Clients, allowing me to practice and hone my communication skills.
