Working Together In Lord Of The Flies, By William Golding

Bill Richardson once said, “We cannot accomplish all that we need to do without working together”. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding illustrates what happens to a group of boys who are trying to survive alone on an island. Golding demonstrates that people who don’t have the same common priorities cannot accomplish a unified goal. In the Lord of the Flies, Golding demonstrates multiple incidents where the boys don’t share a common priority and cannot accomplish a goal. An example of this is when Ralph believes that the fire should be their number one priority because it could signal a boat that could save them from the island. On the other hand, Jack believes hunting is more important than the fire because they need meat to survive.
