World war 1 was one of the deadliest wars of the 20th century. With this being said, World War 1 did bring many technological advances to warfare. World war 1 began in 1914 with the assassination of the archduke of Austria-Hungary, Franz Ferdinand in the town of sarajevo, by Gavrilo Princip. The war ended in 1918 with Germany signing the Treaty of Versailles and assuming all responsibility of the war. During world war 1, both sides started to look for ways they could gain the upper hand in the war and break the bloody stalemates. This, in turn, would have both sides developing new weapons that their enemy had never seen before. During world war 1, there were many advances in technology that both sides have never seen before. It only held 5 rounds in the cartridge but it was reliable and rel accurate. It was massed produced because of how cheap the countries obtained the materials to produce real cheap. “ Both were known for their durability and long range(both could fire accurately at around 500 meters, while the enfield could potentially kill a man two kilometers away.” (World War 1) Both the germans and the british mass produced the weapon because they had the resources. Both guns were highly reliable. The german rifle could kill a man and not be in immediate danger of being shot. The british rifle could kill a man 2 kilometers away and not be in any danger at all.
