Everyone has experienced change in their lives. We go from young to old and small to big. Throughout our lives, we have changes in our sense of style, family dynamic, interests, morals, etc.. There are changes that will only affect you and then there are some where they will affect each and every person. In the 1900s there were new ideas evolving affecting the whole population. It was a time period where people and technology began to transition from the previous generation to the new generation. New things evolved such as mass production, automobiles, canned goods, and a new lifestyle for women. Some of the new inventions had both a positive and negative affect on the world. Mass production made production of materials easier and faster (“Automobiles”). In many areas of mass production, the assembly line was what made it possible. The automobile industry in the United States had great growth in the 1920s (“Automobiles”). Before World War I, cars were a luxury to many people because of how expensive they were (“Automobiles”). However, this changed when cars became a mass production. Once cars were being massed produced, one of every five Americans owned one (“Automobiles”). This method of transportation had a great effect on society. People gained independence and the ability to go places faster. For example, instead of it taking twenty minutes to go to the store, it would take five minutes. In conclusion, the mass production of vehicles changed the lifestyle of Americans forever
