“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them,” is one of the many good quotes by Walt Disney. I believe it is worth it to dream because dreaming will make people work harder, dreams can distract people from bad things in life, and they can allow people to prove the world wrong. Over the past few months my class and I have been looking at articles, reading books, and watching videos to help us decide whether it is worth it to dream or not. To begin with, I believe it is worth it to dream. Dreams make people work harder. This is displayed in the book We Beat the Street. In this book the main characters Ramek, George, and Sam, are forced to deal with drugs, crime, and guns as they grow up. They need to work very hard to try and achieve their goal of being doctors. Dreams can distract people from the bad things in life. This is witnessed in the video Homeless “High School Student Graduates.” In this video, a student named Fred Dukes is homeless and is trying to graduate high school. After working very hard he scored a 24 on his ACT’s. Fred had to focus on his school work and try to ignore the fact that he had no place to go after school. Therefore the dream of graduating school helped him deal with homelessness. Lastly, I believe that it is worth it to dream because dreams can make people prove the world wrong. This is seen in the video “The Power of a Dream Changes Lives.” In this video, Jason is an autistic student who wants to play basketball for his high school. Everyday he pratices really hard and tries to improve. After a long painstaking journey he got to play in a game.
