Ultimately you make your own decisions. Though others may persuade you to do things and believe a certain way, the final decision is your own. Once I was trying to decide whether I should wear a pair of blue shoes or black shoes. Everyone had told me to wear the blue pair but I just didn’t think it went well with my outfit. I chose the black pair because it was what I thought would work best, not what the majority had said.
The start of my freshman year was a thrilling experience for me. To start out my freshman year I made the schools Varsity soccer team, a huge accomplishment for me. However, I was naïve to the coming situation to myself. I was on the path to continuous harassment from teammates as I was surrounded by seniors. Many of the seniors had egos, full of themselves in every aspect possible.
Most people do not believe that becoming a professional athlete is possible, but I think that with the right preparation, it is possible for me to achieve my career goal of becoming a professional soccer player. For people to acquire the career of their dreams, they will need to set themselves a series of goals. These goals will be conquered over varying time periods, while some goals take just hour or days or others that take weeks, months, or even years. Each career will require different preparation, but for me as an aspiring soccer player I will need to practice very often.
Soccer’s Life For Leo soccer was his life. He’s been playing soccer since before he can remember. He´s always played on a soccer team and he was pretty good. Leo had a soccer game coming up and was all ready to be breaking ankles. Instead of him breaking other the rest of that day he couldn't move his foot without hurting.
As school leaders, it should be our genuine desire, responsibility, and commitment to teach inclusively to all students, as well as meet state and federal standards. This book identifies a realistic approach to using data to achieve those goals. Goldring and Berends weave a single vignette throughout the text to show the connections among each topic and process. This gives school leaders the opportunity to think critically and reflectively about their own practices with using data. Published by Corwin Press, this book speaks to the teacher-leader as well as the new or experienced administrator.
Planned Parenthood has remained a controversial topic in government and in households throughout America. There are split views on whether it should be funded by government or not, not to mention the underlying moral dilemma when it comes to abortions. In essence, Planned Parenthood was funded $500,000 in 2014. Though they are not prohibited to use federal funding on abortions, but Planned Parenthood conducts around 300,000 abortions a year using other funding. Recently, an anti-abortion group conducted an undercover interview and discovered that Planned Parenthood uses fetal tissue for scientific research, which is against the law.
It was a radiant day in March with just a little breeze, a perfect day to play soccer. The first half of the game was just coming to an end and I had played center midfield the entire match. My team was in the lead, and we were playing a compelling game. A fake left around the girl coming at me and a lofted pass to my teammate on the wing.
Near the end of the game, I am shaking. Inside the building in front of me, everyone is cheering. With one more chance to win the championship, it’s do or die.
Finally, tryouts were over. The season ahead would provide a clean slate, an opportunity for a new beginning. Although the Bulldogs faced a challenging schedule, our coach was confident we would again attain the championship spot in our Division. Despite my anticipation of a successful season, lingering anxieties nagged at my assurance. Last year, as one of three sophomores selected for varsity soccer team, I was delighted to be amongst the elite group and motivated by the opportunity to play with the upperclassman.
One of my best days was when my soccer team won the championship. I won several other championships ,but with other teams. This was my first season playing with this team. The major characters in this event were me, my teammates, my coaches and the parents. This event took place in a park at sanger during the summer.
Being shoved to the ground and coming up with a mouthful of turf and a bloody nose isn’t the ideal way to spend a friday night, but for me, it's something I put blood, sweat, and tears into. Soccer has been a passion of mine since my father dropped me off at the local YMCA when I was at the tender age of four. Spending all of my free days for thirteen years running after a soccer ball is arguably what made me into the person I am today. Unity, tenacity, passion and pride have all been morals that are valued within the sport and in my own philosophy. I have explored places I’d never give a second thought to because my sport took me there.
I wish I could include a picture of me playing soccer with this essay because that was all I did from age five to fifteen. Soccer was life for ten years so most people are surprised to hear that the fall of my senior year in high school I will Captain of my high school Cross Country team. How I became Captain of a running sport is an accomplishment I never saw coming. If you had asked me in elementary school, middle school, or even my first two years of high school if I would do anything but play soccer I would have said never. I am the youngest of three boys.
Nothing is better than waking up in the morning with soft sunlight beams casting through the window. I hear the sounds of birds chirping outside my window and the sound of my AC gently blowing out cool air to contrast the warmth in my room. I could not be more excited because not only has Spring blossomed through melted winter snow, but soccer season has also started. Now that the soccer season has officially begun, the blisters on the souls of my feet have also started forming. I swear trying to gain back my stamina was like trying to climb Mount Everest without any breaks.
Ever since I was a toddler, I loved sports. Baseball, basketball, it did not matter; I just liked to run. When I was around 4 or 5, I was in the living room watching the Steelers play the Cardinals and saw Santonio Holmes grab a game winning touchdown to win the Superbowl. I was so excited that I jumped up in the air and I told my dad, “Daddy when I grow up I want to play football and I want to score a lot of touchdowns just like 10 does.”
One of the most significant activities in my life would have to be soccer ever since I got a hold of the ball in 10th grade, it sparked my interest and a fire was ignited. It simply stared with a few friends asking me to join them then slowly progressed into everyday after school I would go outside to kick around the ball, I never really knew it was for me until I started getting more into it, soccer became my outlet more like an escape for me, it was somewhere I could go when I needed to be alone just the ball and I. Honestly, I never knew that it would affect me in the way it has, it started out as a just for fun kind of thing, then it escalated into actually playing games, turning more into a passion and I could actually see myself in the
