BOO!! Ghosts? At some point in time, most people have crossed paths with the paranormal. Whether it was being frightened by a door slamming shut or seeing an apparition, there are various types of paranormal encounters. Our group members have always been intrigued by this particular phenomenon. Consequently, this is the reason why we decided to observe ghost hunters. We have been motivated by thought-provoking accounts because they spark immense interest. The details to these stories are unexplainable, even for professional ghost hunters. The unknown that surrounds spirits added more to our fascination in the ghost-hunter subculture, while stereotypes behind ghost-hunters themselves kept us skeptical. We expected high-tech cameras, infrared cameras, and EMF technology. Normally, people think that ghosts are easy to contact. In our minds, an average ghost hunt consisted of doors slamming all by themselves, hearing voices when nobody else was present, and seeing apparitions. We thought that there would be vivid signs when a ghost was in the room, as well. Ghost hunts sounded like a fun experience where the hunter would always see something paranormal. Our group was excited to hear these stories, but were surprised when they did not match up with our previous beliefs. Honestly, our main hope was that during an interview the ghost hunters would communicate with a ghost for us. Unfortunately, it is not that easy to contact a ghost, which we soon figured out. The organization that we interviewed taught us a lot about paranormal investigations, and we discovered much effort is involved. Some of their encounters even terrorized the ghost hunters for years to follow.
