Choosing what college to further your education in is a huge life decision. A lot of people freak out from the word “college.” I learned from personal experience, choosing to go to a community college was one of the hardest but best decisions I could have made. I first attended Mankato and just was not a fan, it was too big, and the professors just did not have a lot of time for individual one on one time with the amount of students in the classroom. A lot of people don’t realize the benefits of staying at home, furthering your education close to home, and having a job. You could choose to go to a state school or private school and pay almost double or even triple the amount compared to a community college. The problem is communtiy colleges don’t always have the money to advertise all of the programs they offer. The best way to be able to promote the college would be to have a huge tournament of some sort, raise money while people are having fun. That way friends and family around the community can get to see the actual campus, and help promote. By having a fun fundraiser, people will see that Anoka Ramsey is close to home for students and their kids. Also they would see the friendly environment around and how involved the professors are with the school and most importantly, the students.
