As E. L. Doctorow once said “Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.” Writing is a crucial part of one’s education. Writing and expressing ones thoughts and feelings about a piece you have read helps an instructor know if the material was comprehended or not. When writing as children we start out with no knowledge about writing the correct way, but once we get older we learn how to write correctly. Writing was not always an easy concept for me to grasp when in elementary school. I always had to do some extra practice to improve sentence fluency, but as I began to write more I learned little tools that helped me in my writing process. Writing was never my favorite thing to do when growing up, but as I became better I did not mind doing it. The first piece of the content that is needed is a topic. Once the topic is determined the next step is to look for the details to support it. When looking for this information I normally search for internet sources first, and then will turn to books. After reviewing the information and taking notes I start to formulate a rough outline of the paper I will write. From that point I will begin to type the paper following the format of the outline. While typing the paper I will take it slow and not rush it. The most I will type without taking at least a ten minute break is three paragraphs. After typing three paragraphs I will take a ten to twenty minute break and then come back and check the paragraphs I have written to make sure they made sense and are grammatically correct. After checking all of that if I feel well enough to move on I will continue to type paragraph by paragraph until I know I am getting too
