Which advancement in technology most changed the course of WWI?
The trajectory of World War I changed due to the advancements in weapons, which were caused by the way the armies fought and the tactics that were implemented. Wepons evolve in war because the ary want better wepons to end the war faster but does it really end the war faster or does it give the emeny a surprise and give them an idea to make the same wepond for there army. The wepons that made an big effect on the war were the Tank, the flamethrower, rifle and the poisn gas. The evolution and advancements of the tank significantly altered the course of World War I by attempting to move the war out of the trenches. As with most inventions, it was constantly being made better throughout the war. The inventor of the tank was Lieutenant-Colonel Ernest Swinton in 1915. The tank was first used during the Battle of Flers. However, the tank was not a recommended choice of fighting method because it could not move well on the land of the Western Front. Therefore, other people came along and made improvements to the tracking so that it could run smoothly on different terrain. There were different models of rifles. The British had the Lee-Enfield 303, which was the most successful bolt action rifle of all time. The Germans used the 7.92mm Mauser instead.
