The YMCA Step Test tends to measure the cardiovascular endurance. To acknowledge how the heart rate quickly returns to normal after exercise, it is said that the person is fitter. Also, a fit person is able to return to his normal heart rate after rigorous exercise. It is easy to conduct and has a minimal equipment. This test can also help to evaluate if the person has the cardiovascular risk. For the men had the early age to find heart diseases unlike women. The YMCA and Queens College has the same protocol but the YMCA step test has a higher step. After a 1 minute post exercise, the heart rate is measured. For the background history of the YMCA step test, I’m not be able to seek an answer to this part because I hardly see a proper discovery of it but it is clear that the test has been produced by YMCA.

They were 57 adults who participated for the study. They use YMCA step test and grade exercise testing (GXT) for the cardiovascular fitness. It has two interval day between the test. The strength of test, using the two simple test. A grade exercise testing (GXT) is a tool for to identify heart event or indicator of heart disease. The weakness of the test just incase the client wanted to stop the operation or does not follow the protocol it automatically cancel the test.
