The mission of the Yale Physician Assistant (PA) Program Online is to prepare PAs to provide compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care as members of interdisciplinary teams. They will be culturally competent clinicians and committed to continuous learning and professional development. Our graduates will make significant contributions to their communities and to the advancement of the PA profession. Pursuing a PA degree is a turning point in my adulthood that can only be explained by a desire to accomplish all the elements of the Yale PA Online mission. I have an engineering degree and I am a mother of two, but the combination of the analytical mind, the desire to give the best care for my firstborn who was diagnosed with cancer, and the diverse places I have lived in the past 20 years has helped me know without a doubt that a career as a PA is the right choice for me. I currently live in Houston, one of the largest cities in the country, one of the most diverse in terms of demographics and culture, and it has one of the largest medical centers in the country and probably the world. I was not the admitted patient, but I watched health care at work.
