Young Adults Should Be Tried For Crimes

It is not uncommon for young adults to be tried for crimes; however to be tried as an adult and as a minor are extremely different. When youths commit a crime, the wrongdoing must be tremendously grave for them to be tried as an adult. Otherwise, they will be prosecuted for committing delinquent acts. Juveniles also do not have a jury during the trial, instead the judge is the one who decides whether or not the young adult in question is a delinquent. Furthermore, in the adult criminal system the aim is to punish the criminal for their crimes and in the juvenile system it is to reeducate the young person. However, this might be misplaced as those young adults who start committing offenses before the age of 12 are more likely to continue offending
