As a result, James turned to
James finds what he is looking for by seeing how tough it is to live the life of a Jew. As to why he sees why his mom wouldn’t want
The first words that came out of Rubenstein’s mouth was that he was surprised to see James sitting in his off. They continue to talk and Rubenstein says there aren’t many Jewish Families left because they all has something to deal with, or most of them just moved away. For example, “The older ones died, the younger ones left” (McBride 225). James is learning that it’s not an easy place for Jewish people to live. The ones that
James then meets Aubrey Rubenstien who was very kind and treated him as if he was just like him, in some way that was indeed true. Aubrey was really surprised to see him. He got on the phone with a family member to let him know that he was there. it only showed how surprised
In the story “Your Move” by Eve Bunting the main character James' mother is gone at work and James sneaks out to join a club but soon realizes that he does not want to be in the club, which leads to my main point that James is protective over Issac and cautious as a brother. My first reason for how James is protective over Issac, one is when James brought Issac to join the club for safety issues, he wanted to be cool by joining the gang but they said “why did you bring this punk” and James responded back saying “I told you. I can’t leave him alone. What if something happened!”(3)
On page 54 is says, “‘Shut up James’ I snap at him I am annoyed the he could scare me into mistaking a sliding chicken crate for a cracking ship’s hull. ‘Yes, you are going to die everyone of us is going to die,’ I say.” In this scene, Samuel shows the he is easily angered. When he gets angry he takes out his emotions in harmful ways, especially because James is just a little kid. At this point in the story, Samuels attitude has not changed.
In the early chapters of James’ story,
He wanted to keep his family in better state than he was. James provided a very steady source of income throughout the beginning part of the money with his boxing career. It showed how his family lived in a very nice, well-kept house and his kids were very healthy. In the middle of the story the events hit the characters hard. Jurgis had lost his father, and could not afford to put the kids through school and he felt like he was failing himself.
In the beginning, James didn’t listen to his mother and left the house when she went to work that night. This isn’t the only wrong thing he did. Near the middle of the story, James climbs a pole and writes on a sign. Kris, one of the people who want him to do this, tells him that it’s illegal. James starts to realize that this wasn’t the right choice after a different club comes, a bunch of high schoolers.
James’s mother plays a paramount role towards James’s perspective on the
It doesn't make sense that James does, but doesn't want to hunt animals. James cares for them. He just wants to go so his father likes him. “When I'm older, I will go hunting with my father the way my brothers have done. I try not to think about this.
Have you ever felt like you had to be tough? Well then you feel like Andrew in “Fly Away Home,” by Eve Bunting. Andrew, the protagonist, has to be tough because, he needs to be brave , and determined to make a better life for himself and his dad. The first and most obvious reason why Andrew has to be tough is because, he needs to be brave.
Specifically, James provides a flashback to the time he captured two red birds as pets and Octavia pressured him to slaughter them so that there would be food. Certainly she can manage to slaughter the birds herself, but Octavia slapped him repeatedly when he refused. She only halted the slapping when he finally killed it. For an eight-year-old boy, this was a gruesome scene. In that moment, James could not fathom why she had compelled him to do it because there was no explanation provided for him.
Bringing him to start feeding his crew member healthier and keeping his ship clean. This led to only one member out of 50 dying. Also James kept great control of his crew because he was a good captain. His crew always obeyed him and because of this he treated his crew nicely. Also, he fed his crew well.
This proves that although James is trying to or into his family, his emotion(s) put a major roadblock in his path. Another reason that supports this idea is on page 4. While and after the kitten is dying, he lets his emotions pour over and doesn’t care what his family sees of him, only about the dead kitten.
