Climate Change

By: Zachary Mullins

All humans have an impact on our environment, no matter if it’s individually or part of a bigger group, we all affect the world in one way or another. Global warming is an effect of that impact that all of us make. Climate change is a big deal. Not only will the earth get hot, ice will start to melt, mixing most of our freshwater with the ocean saltwater. Also, sea levels will rise along inhabited shores, even covering some small islands. Plenty of species will be wiped out. Yet many people around the world believe global warming is not an issue, or even real, but many people do believe also.

The people who don’t believe Climate Change is an issue, or even real, are referred to as “Climate Deniers” by some, and people who believe global warming exists are sometimes referred to as “Global Warming Cultists”. These titles are usually used when one side is talking about the other. John Hawkins, a “Denier”, writes in one of his …show more content…

There are plenty of people who believe humans don't have an impact on climate because the greenhouse effect of CO2 is so weak compared to water vapor. But, although water vapor is better at trapping heat, it is also a continuing pattern. The more water vapor in the atmosphere, the more vapor gets contained up there rather than continuing in the water cycle. Also, to explain the human effect on global warming, the more water vapor in the atmosphere, the more it boosts the greenhouse “power” of other gases, therefore increasing the effect of CO2 as a greenhouse gas. CO2 is the leading gas emitted by humans, says the United States Environmental Protection Agency. So, if CO2’s effect is getting stronger, and humans are producing more CO2, wouldn't we be majorly contributing to global
