What are some tasks of the beginning stage of groups? Introduction of members in the group is a task of the beginning stage of groups. Member introducing themselves helps everyone relax and feel comfortable with each other. Also, it allows members to hear what they have in common with other members, making the group more cohesive. For example, a support group for women that love too much, the leader should introduce herself first. She should introduce herself by disclosing information to the group that she expects them to reveal in their introduction. There are several different styles of introductions. The type of group that is meeting should dictate the style of introduction.
