When developing a presentation it is important to communicate information clearly and concisely. Different presentations may require different practices including: slideshows, practical demonstrations, training, interviews and pitching concepts and proposals.

The type of presentation that I am going to use is a PowerPoint slideshow; I will deliver this to my colleagues at our team meeting. It allows you to take inventory of the main points you wish to make during your presentation. By getting all of your main points on paper it assists in making your presentation coherent because you can then expand on each point. Depending on the on the subject of your presentation, it is often vital to research the topic because you should always make sure that you are giving your audience accurate and correct information. Handouts for your audience are a useful way to include supporting information to add clarity to your presentation. While designing my presentation I will check whether or not there are any house styles for presentations. I have chosen to use PowerPoint because it allows me to use a combination of written and verbal communication. It has a simplistic interface which allows presentations to be created easily. This includes booking a venue (checking that it is large enough for your audience) and inviting your audience. You also need to check that you have the correct resources and equipment for your presentation.

While developing a presentation, it is especially important to practice and rehearse it. Rehearsing a presentation allows you to indicate any errors in it such as spelling and grammar mistakes, giving you chance to amend the presentation in advance. It is ideal if you can rehearse in the venue where your presentation will take place; showing you how much you need to project your voice to fill the room and letting you check that the equipment you plan to use works. By clicking through the presentation several times it lets you to become accustomed to the order of the slides.

It is equally important to time your presentation when rehearsing it. For example, my manager has given me a ten minute slot in our team meeting to deliver my presentation. Therefore, I need to deliver my presentation in this time and also ensure that I leave enough time for Q&A's at the end of my
