Roaring lions, swinging trapeze actors, suspenseful rope actors, goofy clowns, hungry cannibals all under one tent. They’re here to entertain tons of people children and aged, towering giants to midgets, rich or poor because it’s only fifty cents for adults and twenty five cents for kids. Don’t wait for too long since there’re only two shows on May 18th. That’s what Dan and Christopher, best friends since kindergarten, read when arriving to Stoddard’s grocery store to grab a soda and chips in a sizzling day at the start of summer. Christopher has not seen an advertisement of a carnival since he was a little kid and that really freaked him out. “But I did invite someone with us,” Christopher speaking nervously. “Who is it?” He wondered. At first he thought his parents were coming with them. “My girlfriend Jessica, remember?” Christopher eagerly says Dan thought his ears just misheard it by the barking of the dogs, the blaring horns of the fire engines, the arguing of elderly men over dominos, and the playful cheers of the children. In fact, he heard Christopher said something else but he was dead serious about Jessica. He is in shock that this is really going to happen, he knows that he will feel like the third wheel of the group. When Jessica said hello to Dan, he felt like he was about to fall apart like a building during an earthquake. He wished Christopher did not invite her over in view of the fact that those two don’t get along. The reason why they don’t like each other is because Jessica is always teasing him. In the past at school she spread a rumor that Dan still wet his pants, when she saw him coming home with his pants soaked but of course that’s another story.
