Back in the day and to this day friends and family tend to have get togethers, depending on their beliefs alcohol may be provided for the adults as a refreshing beverage. The Budweiser Company wants the audience to use their product at their gatherings. In an ad for beer back in the 1960’s, the Budweiser Company uses pathos in various ways, a bandwagon approach, a class appeal, and a visual appeal to persuade their audience to buy their product. An emotional appeal is set for anyone of the age or older than 21 who looks at the ad for Budweiser beer. In the ad, all for gentlemen have a Budweiser beer as their drink. Women and other men will see this ad and think that they should buy Budweiser and drink it since other people are buying and drinking it. They are all having a drink while either having casual conversation or enjoying a nice meal. The phrase “Where there's life… there's bud,” allows the consumer to imagine Budweiser in every aspect of any social event. Furthermore the Budweiser company uses a class appeal to inform their audience that their product is for all economic classes. The ad presents men of different economic classes through the way the men are dressed. The gentleman in the suit could be considered of a higher economic class. The gentleman in the sweater could be considered a more moderate to medium economic class. The two gentlemen in jeans and a button up shirt could be considered more of a working or casual class.
