The AP Calculus AB exam will be structured like the following. The exam will take approximately three hours and fifteen minutes. This exam is designed to measure students knowledge and understanding of concepts in Calculus. There is a multiple choice section of the test. This section will include a calculator portion and a non calculator portion. There is also a free response section. This section also includes a calculator portion and a non calculator portion. In this paper I will discuss AP acceptance policies among other things of three different colleges I’m considering attending next fall. The first college I will be researching is Illinois State University. Their AP acceptance policy is that if you get a 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam, you will receive 4 hours of credit for Math 145. Math 145 at Illinois State is equivalent to Calculus I. At Illinois State I would be required to take Finite Math, Applied Calculus, Financial Accounting, Statistical Reasoning, Managerial Accounting, and various Finance related courses for a finance major. At Illinois State they have a math placement test called “The COMPASS Math Placement Exam.” If you have achieved a subscore of a 27 on the math part of the ACT, you are exempt from this exam. Their AP acceptance policy is if you score a 3 or a 4 on the AP Calculus AB exam, you receive 4 hours of credit for Math 121. If you score a 5, you receive 8 hours of credit for Math 121 and Math 122. Math 121 is Calculus I, and Math 122 is Calculus II. At Bradley, I would be required to take Calculus I, Quantitative Methods of Finance, Quantitative Analysis I, Quantitative Analysis II, Cost or Intermediate Accounting, and various other Finance courses for a finance major. All incoming Freshmen are required to take the Math Placement Exam that is in place at
