There are two models to compare and contrast in order to see which fits the needs of the present company in search of. Study after study have been conducted in order to overcome health issues in America.
In the 1980’s both Planned Approach to Community Health (PATCH) and APEXPH were created to aid in educating on the subject of health issues. Both models were developed by the (CDC) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The reason PATCH was created was due to a grant program called Health Education-Risk Reduction (HERR), which was created in 1979 (Kreuter, March,2013). “APEXPH was designed specifically for local health departments to engage in the planning and evaluation process” (McKenzie, Neiger, & Thackeray, 2012).
Now, the (PATCH) model follows five phases: mobilization, collect/organize data, target and priority groups, intervention, evaluation. (APEXPH) follows three phases: organize, assessment, complete cycle. “APEXPH basically does the same thing as PATCH and both models do …show more content…
