Abraham Lincoln’s fascinating life started out in a tiny log cabin; however, he soon moved to other places. He was born in a small town in Kentucky, but most people think he was born in Illinois. When you are reading my paper you will find that Abe Lincoln was a good boy, became a great leader, and also stood up for justice. Abe’s early life experiences were very complex and diverse. On February 12, 1809, the eventual-to-come president was born in a tiny cabin with a dirt floor and no windows. Since he grew very fast and was super tall and strong, he could pick up an axe and cut wood at age nine as well as any man. Soon, his older sister, Sara, started noticing Abe’s quick wit and encouraged him to read. Abe’s parents enrolled him in a school that they could afford. Reading was his favorite subject in school; however, he especially enjoyed studying math. Unfortunately, Nancy, Abe’s mom, got very ill with a rare disease called “milk sickness,” and died. On his 21st birthday he decided to leave his homeland and get a job. People kept asking him if he wanted to sail a flatboat down the Sangamon River to New Salem, and he said “ yes”. When he got there he decided to build a store. People began shopping at his store. Soon, he became popular and trusted, and everybody started asking him for advice, even the judges in court. His friends convinced him to run for Illinois state legislator, but he did not win, so his store failed. At about the same time, a war broke out between the Native Americans and the Illinois settlers. Again, Abe tried to run for State Legislator, and counted on all his friends for support. Some farmers thought he was just “some town fellow”, so he pitched in with the harvest. They voted for him; so this time, he won. In conclusion, Abe was happy with what he accomplished, but was also very happy that he became a State
