Abraham Lincoln embodied a moral figure to his country. He performed with sincerity, great devotion towards the rights of people, and integrity in everything he did. According to Kearns Goodwin, he did not get frustrated or angry, so he found a way to channel those emotions. He was known to sit down and write what he referred to as a “hot letter”to the individual he was angry with and then he would set the letter aside and not send it. If eh did lose his temper, Lincoln would follow up with a kind gesture or letter to let the individua know he was not holding a grudge. Being able to control your emotions is crucial to being a good leader because when you are angry, mad, or frustrated one tends to let it out on the innocent people and most times those situations are unair.
