ABRAHAM LINCOLN
He was the 16th president of the United States, he was born in Kentucky on 12/02/ 1809. He was brought up in Indiana. He was born in a poor family and lacked education and influential friends.
IMPACT OF LINCOLN ‘S WORK
1. His political career began with his campaigning at the Illinois General Assembly where he lost his first election. Although he succeeded the second time and served 4 continuous terms at Illinois House of Representatives.
2. He was the captain of Illinois Militia during the Black Hawk War.
3. Lincoln had also worked as a lawyer which brought him knowledge about conflicts and rights of people.
4. He introduced the “HOMESTEAD ACT” allowing EVERY American to claim for 160 acres of free land.

He relieved 4 million slaves by abolishing slavery.
7. Lincoln did not borrow huge amount of money during Civil war and introduced green money system which became a huge success. He was the man behind U.S.A’s first income tax policy for people above 800$ income. He hence established INTERNAL REVENUE DEPARTMENT, NATIONAL BANKING SYSTEM and U.S currency. Hence improving the condition of U.S economy.
8. He was the creator and organizer of US Department of Agriculture.
9. Lincoln had made social, economic and political plans for rehabilitation of South America by Reconstruction. • He could inspire people by his great philosophy of life.
• Due to his negotiation skills he cold inculcate perspectives and resolve conflicts leading to mutual gains.
Abraham Lincoln had an excellent sense of humor. He considered it important for decision making skill and also led to stress management.
• Lincoln lost 7 times before actually winning the president post. He had the never give up attitude, he achieved his success in his defeats.
• Lincoln was not a born leader however after practicing and failing in business, working on 5100 legal cases and failing in politics he had developed great leadership skills which made him a great leader. He was born with few leadership qualities however he was open to judgments which hence improved his skills to a great extent making him a dynamic SUPPORTIVE and DEMOCRATIC
