Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, on his parent’s farm near Hodgenville, Kentucky. Lincoln was one of the most authoritative presidents to be in office. He became the President of the United States on March 4, 1861, at the beginning of the Civil War. This time was tough for the Americans due to slavery, expansion and, states rights. These tough times led to some of the greatest changes that the country has ever experienced and Abraham Lincoln's greatest contributions to the Civil War era. The United States of America will forever be changed because of the great lengths President Lincoln had to go through to establish equalization between humans and the nation itself.
