Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, and died on April 14, 1865. He is best known to have served as the 16th president of the United States during the 19th Century. He is also known to have been one of America's greatest heroes and leaders because of his roles as the liberator of the Union and issuing of the Emancipation Proclamation which lead to the freedom of slaves. His journey of meek beginnings to achieving the highest office in the United States is an inspirational story. At a time where his country needed him the most, Abraham Lincoln, was suddenly assassinated. They lived in a one bedroom log cabin on a small farm known as Sinking Spring, which is now near Hodgenville, Kentucky. Although Thomas did not have any education, he was an exceptional farmer, carpenter, and during his free time, he also served as a member of the jury.
