I am grateful to experience what it is like to have an extraordinary employer. Not many people can say they had the chance to work for someone who is not only a strong leader, but an exceptional mentor. I had the pleasure of working as a Residential Assistance for Mr. Joseph at Florida Memorial University for a year, and I could not have asked for a better experience. His dedication and passion for the students at Florida Memorial University was refreshing and uplifting. In Residential Life, our main focus was the residence’s housing experience; however, Mr. Joseph sincerely cared about each student’s wellbeing and success.

Not to mention, the person has to like what they are doing or else the job won’t be worth it. Emma is not only mature enough to handle the job, but is inclusive and personable enough that this job will be an amazing fit for her.

Applying to be a resident assistant is one of the best and most rewarding decisions that I made in college. Without my experiences in Residence Life, my college experience would not have been as rich as fulfilling. I was a freshmen women’s RA for my first two years as an RA and I always look back fondly over that time. Although there was definitely a lot of struggles and conflicts that occurred in my freshmen modules, that’s really where my heart is. Over my past three years as an RA, I have always been interested in hearing about and learning about the experiences of other freshmen women RAs.

It offers more independence and privacy, a greater choices of services, and more involvement of direct care workers. (McSweeney-Feld & Oetjen, 2012, p. 25). I want to become an assistant principal for one simple reason, the children. I believe that all children can learn under the right conditions. With this in mind, I feel that instructional leaders are responsible for ensuring that the conditions for learning are embedded in the school’s culture. Although my role as a Learning Team Facilitator enables me to have an impact on the academic achievement of students through working with teachers, I believe that becoming an assistant principal will help me to be more of a driving force throughout the school. I possess several personal attributes that are essential in serving in the capacity of an assistant principal.
