Al Gore as President Al Gore was the 43rd president of the United States. Al Gore’s presidency lasted for two terms. He ran during the presidential Election of 2000 and became president from 2001 through 2009. Al Gore accomplished many great things during his election such as caring for the environmental problems of the world. Al Gore was an environmentalist who dedicated his presidency to environmental issues and reduce conflicts of the world. Al Gore ran for the 43rd presidential election against George W. Bush. Later in 2008, he gave another speech about Coal mines. He signed a law that would not allow any Coal mines to be constructed unless they had carbon capture systems. In early 1996, a law was passed in 2015 -2016, that all diesel engines would have to have a 90% of emission reduction. The Federal Clean Air Act was an organization that created the law for the emission regulations. Al Gore got involved in the organization to assist the emission standards take place sooner than expected and helped make these regulations take place starting at the end of 2009 instead of waiting until 2015-2016. He convinced the public that it was better to do regulate our emissions sooner to help regulate the air. Later that year, on December 10, 2007. Al Gore won a nobel peace prize for raising awareness to the public about Global warming. What all these environmental friendly acts did, was help make the U.S one of the most environmental friendly nations in the world. Al Gore was also able to help convince other nations such as China with his Nation Save organization, to become cleaner nations. What this also did was it reduce at least to 50% of their nations usual emission pollution rates of previous years. Al Gore was also against abortion.
