Alcohol needs to be restricted Have you ever had a family member or roommate come home drunk, or drinking and cause a disturbance? Alcohol is a very big problem, and it needs the distribution time restricted to at least 11p.m. Alcohol can cause a lot of problems with the body, can cause an increase in crime, and it can cost a lot of money for people to buy. Alcohol can be very harmful depending on the amount consumed, and strength of the drink. Some of the larger side effects are as stated in the Australian Drug Foundation “ It slows the activity of the central nervous system, and large parts of the brain”. It can slow hand eye coordination, which is apparent from the tests, police use to see if people are drunk and operating a vehicle. Alcohol can increase aggressive behaviors and can heavily impair personal judgement,which can lead to breaking the law and/ or getting caught and going to juvie or juvy. “Around 40% of incarcerated inmates are in juvie or jail for alcohol related crimes”, as stated in AlcoholRehabGuide.org. Related crimes can include robbery, sexual assault, and aggravated assault to name a few. From those court costs, people can lose large amounts of money. When people go to court for getting caught breaking the law, they have to pay part or all of the court fees, and that alone can cost a lot of money. The alcohol itself can cost a considerable amount of money. Alcohol can cost as little as $1.00 to make, but cost the buyer as much as 4-5 and even 6 times that amount. As stated in smallbuisness.chron “To earn a 75% profit on each drink multiply your liquor cost by 4, and for an 80% profit, multiply by 5. Meaning at making cost of $0.91 per drink, and a 75% profit would be $3.64 per drink”, that is a huge amount of money just to make a $0.70- $1.00
