Alexander the great was born on July, 356 B.C. Alexander was taught by Aristotle up until his father was assassinated and Alexander took over his kingdoms at the age of 21. At the age of 23 he was battling the Persian army. The leader of the Persian army was Darius and he outnumbered Alexander's army. In the end Darius fled his men and Alexander and his army proved themselves victorious. Afterwards, Alexander traveled to Egypt to claim more land and he was named pharaoh. In Egypt, he built his first major city at the edge of the Nile. He named it Alexandria. Soon after Alexandria was built, news spread to Darius who was furious.
