Dear Incoming Algebra 2 Level 1 Student, Algebra 2 Level 1 can be a course that is very rewarding and can help you get a better understanding of math as long as you are able to put the time and effort in order to do so. My favorite unit this year would be when we did factoring. Factoring in my opinion is one of the easier concepts to grasp and get a handle of. If you get good at this, it will definitely help you in the long run, as this appears in many, if not all of the upcoming units. My favorite part of the unit is the quiz where we had to factor 15 problems in 15 minutes. It was very stressful however it was very fun to see how fast you were able to factor the 15 problems. Throughout the year I have not used many strategies in order to study but I would suggest developing some if you really want to do well in this class. I would definitely recommend coming in for extra help and using math seminar. Math Seminar is a great resource if you are struggling with certain problems or are just looking for math help in general. You can come in almost anytime during the school day and there will be a teacher there to help you with your troubles. Another strategy I recommend using is planning and managing your study time. Make sure that you have enough time to study and do homework because it is necessary to do well in this class. Don’t wait until the last minute in order to study or do homework because trust me, it gets stressful leaving everything until the last night. I speak from experience when I say that you should get work and studying done before it is too late because procrastination can become a very difficult habit to break. These strategies are sure to help you start off on the right track if you are looking to get a good grade in this class. If I could change anything from this year and go back to day 1 is that I would
