Today, I asked some students to take a survey about what tips and tricks they have for the SAT. One of questions I asked in the survey is to describe the structure of the SAT in your own words. What I have concluded from the surveys I received is there is; English, Reading and Math section. One tip I have for the SAT is STUDY,STUDY, and more STUDYING. I recommend studying the topic you have the most trouble with, and do practice test on the topic you have the most trouble on. In that topic, study the different areas you don’t remember or have trouble with. For example, If you have trouble with vocabulary and grammar; on the SAT there is a whole section dedicated to that so take a practice test online. If you two slow, you can always skip the question and come back to it. If you are going to fast, I recommend slowing down but no too much so you do not have enough time; but enough to make sure you are getting the answer right. Another tip is skip around do not do all the questions in order, especially in the math section. In the Math section, I suggest you start with the short answer questions because with the multiple choice questions you can quickly guess if you’re running out of time; on the short answer you can not do that. On the SAT they order the question easiest to hardest,so do all the easy questions first to get those ones out of the way, then go from there. Another tip is fill in every question! Even if you do not the answer because they do not take any points off if you get it wrong. On the test day pick a letter(a,b,c etc.) so, if you have to guess you will chose that letter without thinking about it. You should not have any time left while taking the SAT.
