Alzheimer’s Disease If you have heard of or have seen the move The Notebook, then you may be familiar with Alzheimer’s disease. It’s normal to forget little things like where you placed your car keys or someone’s name from time to time, even for adults. But, having difficulties remembering where you live or forgetting someone you are close with may be something more than just occasional forgetfulness. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia that creates problem with the function of the brain. It is a brain disorder that progressively destroy memories and intellectuals of a person to point where it affects their daily lives.

Having an unhealthy lifestyle is almost like the mother of all illnesses. As of right now, I do not do a lot of activities and school work refrains me from eating and sleeping properly. High Blood Pressure, Type 2 Diabetes, lack of fruit and vegetables, lack of exercise, smoking, etc, are all examples of risk factors for Alzheimer. I will persuade my parent to buy more fruits and cook meals consisting of mostly vegetables so when I need a quick meal, I don’t have any other choice but to eat the meals with vegetables or a fruit instead of junk food. I would also take more vitamins. I will also try and incorporate more activities in my life such as inviting my friends to go hiking on the weekends, walking to stores close by instead of asking my dad to drive me everywhere, or doing more chores around the house. Due to the fact that there are numerous factors to Alzheimer’s Disease, it is difficult to pinpoint an exact formula to take care of all of the factors that causes Alzheimer’s Disease. Another reason why is there is no cure is the difficulty of diagnosis. Although losing memories and being forgetful is a crucial sign of Alzheimer, symptoms can still vary from person to person.
