Jeff Bezzos is widely known as the president of Amazon. He is widely known for his entrepreneurship spirit that he has displayed for more than three decades of his life. This year he was named as the number one corporate leader in Fortune magazine. After a look at his story it is evident that his deserves this award (Chew and Groden 2). Amazon was formed in 1994 and it registered online as Amazon.Com in 1995. The company has preserved many obstacles to be where it is now. This attribute can be seen when he is interacting with his employees. He has always made an effort to know them better. This way they can trust him and they feel there is more than business with him. He has always been a dreamer. It was his childhood dream to set a space hotel and much as any one would have shrugged the dream home he still holds onto it. He now has a company called Blue origin which has been in operation for sixteen years now. The company has already successfully mad e an airspace that will carry its first passengers in 2016. Rob Meyerson, who is the president of the company, says that it will be ready to get into space in 2017 (Chew and Groden 4). After confirming its safety, they will be selling tickets to passengers as space tourists. All these will be achieved out of a childhood dream that seemed so unreal. His ability to delegate jobs has also made him a great leader. He knows that he cannot manage his business alone and to do this he has trusted his work to people who have had past experiences in specific fields to manage them. He is also able to develop a long relationship with his employees. Jeff Wilke is an employee who joined the company in 1999 and has been working with it since then (Chew and Groden 3). He has made sure that he got the best employees. He employed Rob Meyrerson who was an engineer at NASA to be the President of Blue Origin. He also hired Jay Carner who was a former spokesperson to President Obama (Chew and Groden 5). He has also been supportive of his workers when they are facing their down moments. A good example is when his reporter Jason Rezaian was detained for 18 months with the charges of espionage. He took him from the military airbase and brought home using his private jet (Chew and Groden 6). His show of sympathy to him sowed Jason that he was not only his employer but also his friend. Jeff also inspires his employees by holding meetings with them regularly. He also encourages the employees to be innovative by giving them resources to carry out researches and if it does not go well, he does not punish them. He also encourages then by being involved in their day to day activities. He does this by mentoring them on better ways of doing around advising them on ways to enhance their work. He encourages them to work together saying that teamwork is more effective than individual work. Apart from Amazon, Jeff owns many other companies, which includes the Washington post, Blue Origin, Cloud services, and Uber.
