Amelia Earhart In today's society, we often hear of the many successful men that are accomplishing things to make the world a better place. You hear about the long, difficult journey it took to make them successful, well-respected men Although they did have great accomplishments, did you ever hear about the women who helped them? You never heard about the wives or the sisters who helped get them to where they are. Most women of the early to mid-1900s were so unspoken of, it was almost as if they didn't exist. She would also travel the longest possible distance. She chose Fredrick Noonan for her navigator because of his knowledge of the Pacific Ocean. Having overcompensated, she dropped for a right wing, causing the plane to go out of control. The plane was shipped to California for repairs, while Earhart planned their next departure. Since they were leaving so late in the year Amelia decided to travel in the reverse direction.After the plane was finished, Earhart and Noonan left California, to Florida to begin their 29,000-mile journey. They left Miami on June 1 . After multiple stops in South Africa, they arrive in New Guinea. At the time, there were only 7,000 miles left on their journey, and it would be over the Pacific. Through multiple miscommunications, the final approach to Howland Island using radio navigation was unsuccessful. Things started turning for the worse and they couldn't do anything about it. Having been unsuccessful if communication through a radio in an attempt to get directs where to land because they had an inaccurate map, Earhart and Noonan disappeared in a most likely crash and were never to be
