Writing is produced in many different forms because it has variety of purposes. Every person writes for a specific purpose. Some people write to express their ideas and thoughts, others to convey a message… while writing the writer clearly has an audience in mind and changed mind on more than one occasion for examples adding and deleting some ideas. Learning to write is like learning to read. Both follow a consecutive process. However, writing requires more basic skills than any other subject. It takes into account the developmental stages of children. Writing is a process it has several stages and teachers should know how to implement these stages.

Some writers put detailed notes, others just few jotted words and still others plan in their heads. When writers plan, they think about three main issues; the purpose of their writing, the audience they are writing for and the content structure of the piece. The second stage is the drafting; it is the first version of a piece of paper of writing. A writer can have several numbers of drafts. Editing is the third stage in the writing process. In this stage the writers revise and edit the writings, change the body paragraphs or the introduction or check the written information and their order if it works or not. The final stage is the final version. When the writer finishes the editing and drafting stages they produce the final version that is send to its intended audience.
